Woman kidnapped, raped on pretext of job offer in Dubai

Dubai - Public prosecution records show the two men, aged 32 and 30, used a stun gun to assault and threaten the woman, a Filipina, to make her comply before raping her. They then stole her mobile phone, golden ring worth Dh1,000 and Dh100 in cash.

A Pakistani man and his compatriot friend allegedly kidnapped and raped a job seeker after luring her to meet him and ride in his car to go for a job interview, the Court of First Instance was told.

The complainant, a 31-year-old receptionist, said she posted an ad on a popular website with her mobile number hoping to find a job. She received a phone call around noon on May 23, 2015 from a man. "He called me about a job. He told me to wait for him at 4:00 pm at the metro station in Al Mankhoul."

The woman got busy in a phone call from her home country when the duo came and picked her up. "They asked me about my previous job and other details before the man sitting in the passenger seat moved to sit next to me," she said.
"The first accused admitted he had called the woman after finding her and persuaded her to wait for him in Al Mankhool where he picked her up with his friend," a police corporal said.

"Both of them admitted when questioned they raped the woman after luring her to meet them for a job interview. The second accused first raped her. He moved to the back seat where he used a stun gun to intimidate her and tied up her neck with a mobile recharger wire," the corporal told the prosecutor. He switched seats with the first accused, who then raped her and used the stun gun to assault her.

They then dropped her at a dark location so that she would not be able to see their car's plate number.
They confessed they stole the woman's mobile phone, health card and bank card.
The police found a mobile phone and a woman's belt which were stolen from another woman in another complaint.

The second defendant sold the complainant's phone to a man for Dh 1,700. The latter then handed it over to the police after finding out it was stolen.
The forensic report showed the attack left the complainant with multiple bruises all over her body including on her lips and ears.
The police recovered the woman's personal cards from the defendants' car. The stun gun was seized.
