The Steigenberger Hotel in Business Bay has launched a new Presidential Suite earlier this week. The suite sports a modern design with a relaxed pastel decor and spectacular views of the Dubai Water Canal.

Inside the suite, potential visitors are immersed into a world of subtle decor - not too ostentatious. It comes equipped with a beautifully furnished and spacious bedroom, elegant living room, dining room, pantry, and opulent bathroom facilities with an energising walk-in rain forest shower. These facilities are set to cater to every sophisticated businessman or family.

Speaking to Khaleej Times, Steigenberger Hotel Business Bay General Manager Stephen Meredith talks about what could potential guests of the suite get.

Depending on demand, the suite would cost Dh7,000-Dh10,000 during the peak seasons and around Dh5,000 otherwise. Presidential Suite guests enjoy complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi access, priority restaurant reservations, in-room check-in and check-out service, airport transfers from Dubai International Airport, dining privileges in all F&B outlets and Spa treatments, as well as laundry, telephone and meeting space benefits.

Suite guests also gain access to Neunzehn Lounge, Steigenberger's premium lounge facility along with a number of accompanying privileges such as 24-hour check-in, commanding views of the Dubai Water Canal, a 20% discount on food, beverage and spa treatment - though the latter offer could be enjoyed in any suite of the hotel.

The million-dirham question however is how the Steigenberger's presidential suite sizes up to its competitors here in Dubai. As a reference, we'll use incumbent US President and business mogul Donald Trump, who is no stranger to staying at hotels (he has his own chain after all).

One of the key factors when looking at someone like Trump is whether the suite could get important work done. That seems to be the case with the Steigenberger's Presidential Suite. In line with hotel's German value of efficiency - the suite sports the latest in technology to be as productive as possible. They also have a PressReader application so that the US president could get in touch with matters of the world.

When he tries to relax after a day of hard work, there's always the Neunzehn Lounge where he can absorb the commanding beauty of Dubai's Business Bay district and even get a glimpse of the signature Dubai sunset from the Burj Al Arab.

Suffice to say, the Steigenberger's Presidential Suite shines in terms of purpose. It has completely understood its purpose - which is to have a suite optimised for getting the job done. Sure, it might not be as opulent as its competition here in Dubai, but the matter of fact is that it's only decor. What really matters is function over form. Or as in the case of the Steigenberger's presidential suite, being efficient with work all while looking graceful and classy.
