What perks do UAE's FNC members get?

As this year's FNC candidates await the results of the elections, tonight, here is a list of perks that the members can look forward to as they serve the people of UAE.

As UAE braces itself for the results of the Federal National Council elections, tonight, we look at the perks that FNC members enjoy as they serve the people of the UAE:

- FNC members paid Dh50,000 a month

- Also receive Dh25,000 as pension and full health insurance for life

- Deduction of Dh2,000 is made towards a pension from each member's salary every month

- All 40 members are given diplomatic passports

- Members also have diplomatic immunity

- Under diplomatic immunity, they are exempted from traffic fines

- Other perks include five-star hotel stays in the capital on the night before FNC sessions

- A private FNC aircraft  to fly them for international conferences

- Buffets at the end of every FNC session

- FNC Speaker receives a monthly salary equivalent to that of a Federal Minister (undisclosed)

-  FNC budget for proceedings in 2015 Dh187.8m. To increase by 4.56 per cent to Dh196.4m in 2016

- Members expected to attend regular sessions in the capital and committee meetings in Dubai
