Watch: Moderate to heavy rains hit Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah; NCM issues alert
The UAE weather authority expects temperatures to dip only marginally over the coming days
Rains have lashed Fujairah on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, as temperatures in the northern emirate ranged between 17°C and 24°C.
The UAE's National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) stated that Al Bithnah, Skamkam, Al Rimailah and Al Sodah areas, all located in Fujairah, experienced light to moderate rains. In Ras Al Khaimah, Al Huwailat saw heavy showers, as the weather forecast expected the emirate to see the mercury dropping to 13°C on Wednesday.

The UAE weather authority expects temperatures to dip only marginally over the coming days, but residents are likely to feel colder as fresh winds sweep across the country. While some areas have already recorded near-freezing lows, overall daytime temperatures will remain largely stable, with only a slight decline forecast.
On Wednesday, it issued an orange alert for convective cloud formation in Fujairah until 7pm. Take a look at the affected regions highlighted on the following map:
