UAE weather: High of 35°C in Dubai; alert issued for fog in some areas

Skies will be fair to partly cloudy on Monday, October 6, as per forecasts shared by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). Temperatures in the UAE have been dropping as the country is in the transition period towards winter. The clouds are expected to appear towards the east by afternoon.

A red alert was issued for fog and a drop in horizontal visibility in some parts of the country, active till 8.30am today. A yellow alert was also issued for wind and rough sea, active till 10am.

The mercury may hit a high of 35°C and 37°C in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, respectively.

On Sunday, the highest temperature recorded over the country was 42.1°C in Al Ain's Sweihan at 2pm, while the lowest was 17.7 °C in Al Ain's Raknah at 6.30am.

Conditions will turn humid by night and Tuesday morning over some coastal and internal areas with a chance of fog or mist formation. Humidity will range between 20 per cent and 90 per cent.

Winds will be light to moderate, with a speed of 10kmph – 25kmph reaching 30kmph.
