UAE weather: Scattered rainfall, temperature drop expected

Overall temperatures in the country will drop to a low of 13ºC in internal areas and rise to a high of 35ºC in these regions

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast partly cloudy to cloudy weather at times today, with a chance of rainfall over scattered areas and a noticeable decrease in temperatures.

Temperatures are set to reach 34°C in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and 33°C in Sharjah. With rainy weather expected, the emirates will see lows of 22°C, 23°C and 22°C respectively.

Winds will be light to moderate, freshening at times over the sea and causing blowing dust and sand, which may reduce horizontal visibility. Winds will be southeasterly to northwesterly, ranging from 10 to 25 km/h, reaching up to 40 km/h.

The authority also issued a yellow alert in some parts of the UAE for fog, warning residents of a drop in horizontal visibility until 10am on Wednesday, March 4.

Conditions in the Arabian Gulf will be rough. The first high tide will occur at 1.42pm and the second at 2.50pm. The first low tide will occur at 8.15pm and the second at 8.10pm.

In the Oman Sea, waves will be slight to moderate. The first high tide will occur at 10.26am, the second at 10.48pm, the first low tide at 4.30pm and the second at 5.06am.

The Met issued a yellow alert for rough seas, with wave height expected to reach 7ft from 5pm on Wednesday until 5pm on Saturday.
