As UAE goes through the cold winter spell, residents are enjoying rain in different parts of the country. An expert from the country's National Centre of Meteorology earlier predicted that light rain would occur in some areas around January 25.
After Sunday, temperatures can fluctuate with occasional cold spells and moderate warm periods through the winter season, Dr Mohamed Al Ebri, Director of Meteorology at NCM, told Khaleej Times in an earlier interview.
Storm Centre, a weather handle in UAE, shared videos of rainfall in Dubai:

Cold spell in UAE
The country is seeing extremely cold weather, with the lowest temperature of this winter season, 0.2ºC recorded in Ras Al Khaimah's Jebel Jais on January 22.
The cold spell is not a local event, but part of a global phenomena gripping US, Palestine, China, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and several other countries all across the world.
The cold is a result of two weather phenomena — namely, El Niño and La Niña.
El Niño: Central and eastern Pacific waters become warmer than usual, bringing more rain to the Americas but causing droughts in Asia and Australia
La Niña: Central and eastern Pacific waters become cooler than normal, often causing dry conditions in the Americas and heavy rains in Asia and Australia.
La Niña can increase the likelihood of cold air outbreaks in certain regions, including parts of the Northern Hemisphere like the UAE.
