UAE weather: Temperatures to reach high of 49°C in some areas

The weather on Wednesday, July 30, is expected to be fair to partly cloudy, with clouds set to appear over east and northward areas, according to a forecast by the National Centre of Meteorology.

Conditions are likely to get humid by night and Thursday morning over some coastal areas.

On Tuesday, July 29, the mercury reached a soaring temperature of 50.8°C in Bada Dafas (Al Dhafrah Region) at 12.30pm.

Light to moderate southeasterly to northwesterly and northeasterly winds are set tot blow, freshening at times during daytime, causing blowing dust, with a speed of 10-25 km/hr reaching 40 km/hr.

The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.

Temperatures are expected to drop to a low of 27°C in Jebel Jais and reach a high of 49°C in areas of Abu Dhabi like Al Quaa and Gasyoura. Meanwhile in Dubai, temperatures are set to reach a high of 43°C and drop to 35°C. In Sharjah, temperatures will reach a high of 42°C and go down to 32°C.

Over the past two weeks, the UAE has seen rains, storms and even hail in some areas of the country, amid shifting weather patterns taking residents by surprise.
