UAE weather: Yellow alert issued for fog; dusty conditions expected

The weather on Tuesday, July 29, is expected to be fair to partly cloudy and hazy at times, as per a forecast by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

Clouds are set to appear towards eastward and southward regions, possibly becoming convective by the afternoon.

Over the past week, heavy rains, storms and even hail have hit some areas of the country, bringing residents respite from soaring summer temperatures.

The weather authority issued a yellow fog alert for the areas highlighted on the following map:

Abu Dhabi Police took to X this morning to urge motorists to exercise caution due to reduced visibility and follow the changing speed limits displayed on electronic information boards.

Light to moderate southeasterly winds are expected to blow, becoming northwesterly, freshening at times during the day, causing blowing dust, with a speed of 10-25 km/hr, reaching 40 km/hr.

The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.

Temperatures are expected to drop to a low of 28°C in areas like Ras Al Khaimah's Jebel Jais and reach a high of 50°C in Abu Dhabi's Mezaira area.
