UAE weather: Rains expected in some areas; temperatures to rise

Residents on Thursday, January 29, can expect light rainfall in some areas of the UAE along with a rise in temperatures, according to a forecast by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The weather is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy at times over some northern and eastern areas.

Conditions are likely to get humid by night and Friday morning over some internal areas. Light to moderate southwesterly to northwesterly winds are set to blow, gradually freshening by night over the sea, with a speed of 10-25 km/hr, reaching 40 km/hr.

Temperatures are expected to drop to a low of 6ºC in areas like Jebel Jais and reach a high of 28ºC in Abu Dhabi's Liwa region.

Meanwhile, cities like Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah will see highs of 26ºC, 27ºC and 26ºC, while seeing dips of 17ºC, 16ºC and 15ºC respectively.
