UAE weather: Red alert issued for fog; lowest temp 15°C in Dubai, Sharjah

UAE's National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast the continuation of humid weather conditions during the morning hours over some inland and coastal areas, with a chance of fog or light fog formation till January 31.
On Wednesday, January 28, the NCM issued red and yellow alerts for fog in the western part of the country. As visibility decreased, Abu Dhabi Police reduced the speed limit to 80 km/h on Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Intl road (Al Ruwais Bridge - Al Ghwaifat). Motorists have been urged to take precautions and pay attention to the changing speed limits.
Humid conditions will prevail during the morning hours over some inland and coastal areas, particularly in the western regions. Weather conditions will then become fair to partly cloudy, with low clouds appearing over eastern and northern areas. There will be a gradual increase in temperature.

Winds will be south-easterly to north-easterly, light to moderate and occasionally active, with speeds between 10 and 25 kmph, reaching up to 30 kmph. The sea will be slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.
Maximum temperatures in Dubai and Abu Dhabi will be 27°C, while that in Sharjah will be 26°C. The lowest temperatures in Sharjah and Dubai will be 15°C, while that in Abu Dhabi will be 14°C.
The highest temperature recorded over the country on Tuesday was 27.1°C in Um Azimul (Al Ain) at 4pm.
Temperatures are expected to rise gradually on Thursday, followed by a noticeable decrease on Friday.
