Abu Dhabi police issued a warning to motorists, urging caution in the face of unstable weather, and while driving on rain-slick roads.

Earlier, the authority warned residents to stay away from valley areas, which are particularly vulnerable during heavy rains.

The National Centre of Meteorology in the UAE (NCM) issued orange and yellow alerts in the southern and eastern parts of the country.

The department also issued a warning to residents, stressing that "precautions should be taken" during the heavy rainfall. It added that the descending wind "may be associated with microbursts and can reduce horizontal visibility." Residents have been advised to "stay away" from susceptible to landslides.
