Heading outside? You might want to carry an umbrella! Residents in some parts of the UAE experienced heavy rains on December 29, 2025. The precipitation was mostly seen in Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) in the UAE earlier predicted a period of rainfall from December 25 to 29, due to a low pressure system above the country. While most of the precipitation was light, the NCM did warn that heavy rains may hit the northern areas of the country.

Videos circulating online showed cars navigating through flooded roads, with wheels splashing through brown waters. Desert paths turned into rivers as the rains continued through the afternoon in Ras Al Khaimah.

Sharjah too saw a downpour on Monday. One video showed relentless drops of rain falling onto a road covered in water.

The NCM often issues reminders on what to do when heavy rains hit the country. The authority advises staying away from wadis and mountain roads, as these can prove to be dangerous during the rain. Motorists are also advised to be vigilant and drive with caution during unstable weather.
