Abu Dhabi Police have intensified traffic patrols across the emirate as rainfall continues to affect road conditions.

In a post on social media platform X, Abu Dhabi Police mentioned that the Traffic Directorate and Security Patrols are closely monitoring the impact of the weather, working to improve traffic flow, ease congestion, and prevent accidents caused by water accumulation on roads.

Police said traffic teams are making extensive efforts to ensure the safety of motorists and road users during the adverse weather. Proactive plans have also been activated to deploy patrols at tunnels, drainage channels, valleys, and other flood-prone areas, particularly in light of the ongoing low-pressure system affecting the country.

In Dubai, authorities are carrying out similar measures to minimise disruptions. A total of 120 cranes, along with 22 land and marine rescue teams, have been deployed across the emirate.

Dubai Police said the measures include 13 land rescue points, including Hatta, and nine marine rescue points along the emirate’s coastline, ensuring rapid response to incidents linked to heavy rain, flooding or strong winds.

Dubai Police officers are also maintaining a round-the-clock presence on the roads, managing traffic and safeguarding the community as rain continues to fall across parts of the city.

Meanwhile, Dubai Municipality teams remain on high alert, continuously addressing the effects of heavy rains — from draining waterlogged areas to responding promptly to emergency reports. These efforts aim to protect residents and keep traffic moving smoothly across the emirate.
