While temperatures have hit a high of 51.8 in the UAE today, residents in some parts of the country have been enjoying the respite of sudden showers, and even hail. The NCM sent out an alert on Friday afternoon, and rain chasers have been sharing videos of heavy showers, wet roads in Al Ain.
UAE's National Centre of Meterology sent out orange and yellow alerts for Al Ain and surrounding areas, warning residents of heavy showers and hazardous weather conditions if they choose to step outdoors.

Rain chasers in the country have shared videos of hail in parts of Al Ain. Some videos showed heavy showers on Al Hair Nahel road, north of Al Ain.
Heavy showers were witnessed in Jebel Hafeet and Al Dhaher as well. Take a look:
These videos paint a very different picture compared to sweltering heat that the country is enduring, thanks to record high temperatures this summer. UAE temperatures rose to its highest level so far this year on Friday, August 1, with the mercury soaring to a sweltering 51.8°C, the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) said.
The mercury rose to this record threshold in Al Ain's Sweihan at 3pm, it added. Long before summer peaked in the UAE, temperatures soared to a scorching 51.6°C on May 24 also in the desert region of Sweihan, which is known for its hot, hyper‑arid climate.
