The weather in the UAE on Tuesday, February 24, will be fair to partly cloudy, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).
In the early morning hours, heavy fog blanketed parts of Sharjah and Dubai, reducing visibility to just a few hundred metres. Traffic began building up much earlier than usual as motorists drove slowly and cautiously due to dense fog patches in several areas that significantly reduced visibility on the roads.
The department has issued red and yellow alerts for fog as visibility decreases across the country — particularly in the coastal areas. The alert is in place until 10am on Tuesday morning. Residents have been warned to maintain caution while venturing outdoors, especially while driving.
