Dubai authorities have issued a public safety alert warning residents of adverse weather conditions expected in the emirate.

In the alert sent to residents’ phones, the Dubai Police said the city is expected to experience weather fluctuations and urged the public to follow safety instructions issued by the authorities.

Residents were advised to stay away from beaches and refrain from sailing. The alert also warned people to avoid valleys, areas where water flows, and low-lying locations.

Motorists were urged to exercise caution while driving and adhere to instructions from the concerned authorities.

Dubai Police concluded the alert by advising residents to remain vigilant and stay safe.

The alert was sent to residents through the UAE’s national early warning system. During emergencies, the authority concerned issues a warning alert with instructions for the public using cellular broadcast (CB) technology, meaning all mobile phones within a defined geographical area receive the message simultaneously.

The UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology (National Centre of Meteorology) earlier forecast unstable weather conditions across the country from Saturday to Thursday, with periods of heavy rain and strong winds expected in several areas.
