Dubai Police has sent out an alert warning residents of unstable weather conditions over the coming hours on Thursday, December 18.

They have advised the public to stay away from beaches and refrain from sailing, avoid valleys, flood-prone areas and low-lying locations, exercise caution while driving, and adhere to instructions issued by the relevant authorities.

Sharjah Police issued a similar warning, urging drivers to be careful due to rain, maintain a safe driving distance and reduce speed due to increased risk of accidents. They also asked drivers to avoid dams and valleys.

The warning comes as UAE authorities issued multiple weather alerts this week, cautioning residents about unstable conditions, including rainfall, strong winds and reduced visibility across several parts of the country.

Brigadier Juma Salem bin Suwaidan, Director of the General Department of Traffic, has warned against risky behaviour behind the wheel, including the use of mobile phones or filming while driving, noting that such actions significantly raise the likelihood of collisions during adverse weather.
