UAE weather: Cloudy with chance of rain; winds to cause blowing dust

The weather in the UAE will be cloudy with a chance of rain today. There is a chance of convective clouds, which are usually associated with rainfall, forming over some coastal, northern and eastern areas, as per the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The Met has predicted moderate to strong winds, moving from southwesterly to northwesterly directions, causing blowing dust. The department on Sunday shared guidelines on how to protect oneself during dusty weather. These included closing all windows and doors to avoid exposure to dust.

Temperatures are set to increase, with Abu Dhabi and Dubai seeing highs of 28°C and 29°C respectively. The emirates will experience minimum temperatures of 19°C and 20°C. Meanwhile, temperatures in Sharjah will range between 17°C and 28°C.

Overall, the country will see a dip in temperatures to 9ºC in mountainous parts of the country and a high of 30ºC in internal areas.

The sea will be moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.
