UAE weather: Rains expected in some areas; mercury to hit 48ºC

Temperatures are expected to drop to a low of 30ºC in Fujairah and reach a high of 44ºC in Abu Dhabi

The ongoing summer rains in some parts of the country are likely to continue their streak on Friday, August 8, according to a forecast by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

There is a chance of some convective clouds formation eastward and southward, associated with rainfall by afternoon.

The weather otherwise is expected to be fair to partly cloudy at times throughout the day.

Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds are set to blow, fresh to strong at times with clouds, causing blowing dust and sand, with a speed of 15-25 km/hr, reaching 50 km/hr.

The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.

Temperatures are expected to drop to a low of 30ºC in Fujairah and reach a high of 44ºC in Abu Dhabi.

Meanwhile, Dubai will witness highs of 43ºC and a low of 34ºC. Sharjah, on the other hand, is set to see a high of 43ºC and a low of 32ºC.
