UAE weather: Rains likely in some areas; fair to cloudy day expected

Dust will blow, as light to moderate winds prevail, freshening at times

UAE residents can look forward to some relief from the heat on August 4, as rainfall may occur, according to National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). Rains during peak summer are by no means a rarity in UAE, which saw heavy rains fall on Al Ain on August 3.

In general, fair to partly cloudy conditions will be seen on Monday, with hazy weather at times, the NCM predicted.

In addition, dust will blow during the daytime, as light to moderate winds prevail at speeds of 10 to 25kmph, reaching 40kmph. It will be humid by night and Tuesday morning over some coastal and internal areas, with humidity levels reaching up to 90 per cent in the coastal areas.

The sea will be slight to moderate at times in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.

The country is in its hottest period, as mercury soared to its highest level so far this year on Friday, August 1, at a sweltering 51.8°C in Al Ain's Sweihan at 3pm.

Abu Dhabi will see a high of 45ºC, while Dubai will see a maximum temperature of 43ºC.
