UAE weather: 40ºC highest temperature expected in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah

Dubai temperatures will range between 33ºC and 39ºC on Saturday

UAE skies will remain partly cloudy to cloudy on Saturday, August 23, according to the country's National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

Weather will be humid by night and Sunday morning over some costal areas, where humidity levels will range between 15 and 85 per cent.

Light to moderate winds, southwesterly to northwesterly and freshening at times during daytime, with a speed ranging from 10 – 25 Km/hr reaching 40 Km/hr, are expected to blow. The winds will cause blowing dust, the met department said in its bulletin.

The sea will be slight to moderate at times in the Arabian Gulf and slight in Oman Sea.

Highest temperatures expected in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah will be 40ºC. The lowest in Sharjah will be 33ºC, while that in Abu Dhabi will be 32ºC. Dubai temperatures will range between 33ºC and 39ºC on Saturday.

The highest temperature recorded in the country on Friday was 45.2°C in Al Ghweifat (Al Dhafra Region) at 2:45pm. Mercury is expected to rise to 45°C in internal areas on Saturday as well.
