Residents in some parts of the UAE can expect rainfall on Thursday, August 21, according to a forecast by the National Centre of Meteorology. The showers are expected due to some convective cloud formation towards eastward and southward areas.

The NCM had earlier said the UAE would experience thunderstorms and rain in some parts over the coming two days.

This is due to the fact that the region will be affected by the extension of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) and its movement from the south towards the country, along with the advancement of surface and upper-level low-pressure systems from the south.
