UAE weather: Rain expected in some areas; high of 44°C in Dubai, Abu Dhabi

Rainfall is expected in some parts of the UAE on Tuesday, August 19, the country's National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has predicted.

Formation of convective clouds is probable eastward and southward by afternoon, but overall, skies will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times.

Temperatures in Abu Dhabi and Dubai will hit a high of 44°C. The lowest in Abu Dhabi will be 33°C, while that in Dubai is expected to be 35°C. The highest temperature in Fujairah is expected to be 36°C, and that in Sharjah will be 43°C.

The highest temperature recorded over the country on Monday was 47.3°C in Al Jazeera B.G, Al Dhafra Region at 4pm. It is expected to stay about the same on Tuesday as well.

Weather experts recently told Khaleej Times that the UAE’s summer may start to ease soon, with some predicting that temperatures will show subtle changes beginning next month.

Light to moderate winds, shifting from Southeasterly to Northeasterly, will freshen at times during the day, causing blowing dust, with speeds ranging from 10–25 kmph, reaching up to 35 kmph.

The sea will be calm in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.
