UAE weather: Rainfall likely; temperature to hit 45°C in Abu Dhabi

While the peak summer heat has ended in the country, temperatures remain high

On August 18, UAE residents can expect fair to cloudy conditions, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

With the clouds appearing over some eastern and southern areas, these regions may also experience light rainfall. Dust will blow as light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds prevail, freshening at times.

The winds will blow at a speed of 10 to 25kmph, reaching 35kmph. The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in Oman Sea.

While the peak summer heat has ended in UAE, temperatures remain high, almost always remaining above 40°C. On Monday, mercury will hit a high of 45°C in Abu Dhabi, and 42°C in Dubai. Temperature in internal areas will reach up to 48ºC. With these high temperatures, residents can expect high humidity as well, which could reach up to 85 per cent, especially in the coastal and mountain areas.

Amid the heat, rains have often brought respite with various parts of the country seeing everything ranging from light showers, to heavy rain and even hail.
