UAE weather: Rains expected in some areas; temperatures to hit 49ºC

The weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times on Sunday, especially over Eastern and Southern areas, UAE's National Centre of Meteorology said.

The weather department noted that there is a probability of light rain by night while light to moderate winds will blow during the day. Winds will be gentle with speeds of 10 to 25kmph with gusts picking up and reaching up to 35kmph.

Temperatures will hit 46ºC in Abu Dhabi while Dubai will see a high of 45ºC, Mercury in internal areas will see a high of up to 49ºC. Meanwhile, mercury will dip to 34ºC in Abu Dhabi and 33ºC in Dubai. The country will see a low of 31ºC in Abu Dhabi's Sweihan area.

Conditions at sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.
