UAE weather: Rain likely to bring some respite after previous day crosses 50°C mark

With the beginning of the new month come glad tidings of rainy weather in some areas of the country after the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) revealed in its forecast for Friday, August 1, that there is a chance of convective clouds formation eastward and southward, potentially associated with rainfall.

The weather in general is expected to be fair to partly cloudy. Humid conditions are expected by night and Saturday morning over some coastal and internal areas westward, with a probability of fog or mist formation.

Temperatures on Thursday, July 31, dipped to a low of 24.3°C in Raknah (Al Ain) at 5.45am. Meanwhile, the highest temperature recorded was in Um Azimul (Al Ain) at 50.6°C at 2.45pm.

Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds are set to blow on Friday, freshening at times during daytime causing blowing dust, with a speed of 10-25 km/hr, reaching 40 km/hr.

The sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate at times in Oman Sea.

Temperatures are expected to drop to a low of 34°C in Abu Dhabi and reach a high of 49°C in some areas of the Capital like Sweihan and Gasyoura.

Meanwhile in Dubai, temperatures are expected to reach highs of 46°C and dip to 35°C.
