Dubai residents were thrilled to get the first look of the Dubai Safari project on Wednesday after the Dubai Municipality posted a video of the construction site on social media.
The 15-second video provided the first glimpse of the Dubai Safari that will replace the Dubai Zoo in Jumeirah by the end of this year. Edited with animation and graphics, it gave an impressive aerial view of the construction sites.

"The new Dubai Safari will be home to almost 1,000 animals from around the world. Out of those, there will be more than 350 species of rare and endangered animals," director-general of Dubai Municipality, Hussain Nasser Lootah, was quoted as saying on the post.
Residents reacted excitedly after watching the video. Many said they can't wait for the facility to open and enquired about the opening date. The civic body replied that it will provide the public with more information soon.
The Dh150m facility, which will showcase animals roaming in safari model, is coming up in Al Warqa. The project is slated to open for the public by the third or fourth quarter of this year.
