His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai said that 2020 was a year that proved the United Arab Emirates is the strongest country because of its values of solidarity, tolerance and giving.

Taking to Twitter, Sheikh Mohammed said: “The year 2020 is a year that showed the true meaning of the principles we believe in as a nation. It united our families, our hearts and all our working teams to face the big challenge.”

The Dubai Ruler said that the United Arab Emirates faced a big challenge, and got “full marks” in successfully beating it.

Sheikh Mohammed posted a video on Twitter in which all of the important moments of 2020 can be seen, from the implementation of the National Sterilization programme, to the launch of the Hope Probe, among other things.

He said, “The year 2020 taught us a lot: we learned that our power is in unity, happiness is with the family, we learned that being better is in giving, and that health comes before politics and economy.”

Sheikh Mohammed added that, in 2020, everyone learned that trusting the youth can lead us to the limits of galaxy, and to the fission of atoms.

“The UAE is above and higher than anything or anyone, and the idea of the union is stronger than anything and anyone,” Sheikh Mohammed noted.
