Violations are punishable with a fine of up to Dh3,000, 23 traffic points and impounding the vehicle for 90 days

Sharjah Police have seized 19 vehicles after drivers perform reckless stunts on the roads, the authority said on Wednesday.
The Traffic and Patrols Department of the Sharjah Police General Command seized the vehicles and one motorcycle whose drivers performed reckless stunts on the streets, endangering their lives and the lives of other road users.
Sharjah Police said that legal measures have been taken against the drivers.

Colonel Mohammed Alai Al Naqbi, Director of the Traffic and Patrols Department at Sharjah Police, said that a gathering of vehicles was observed on Tuesday night in one of the areas in the emirate and they were involved in reckless driving.
Several violations were recorded including driving in a manner that endangers the lives of the drivers and the lives of ther motorists, driving without licence plates, obscuring the vehicle's licence plates, and driving a vehicle that causes noise.

He added that these violations are punishable by the Traffic Law, with a fine of up to Dh3,000, 23 traffic points and impounding the vehicle for 90 days, in addition to a fee for releasing the impoundment of up to Dh20,000.
