Dubai is much more than its cloud-touching skyscrapers and swanky malls. It has plenty of hidden gems, all of which are a must-visit whether you are a resident or a tourist.
The Emirate has nature reserves, wildlife safaris and green getaways. The Dubai Municipality on Saturday gave its top five picks of “inspirational ideas on where to go and what to do this winter”.
The post is part of the UAE’s World’s Coolest Winter campaign — a domestic tourism drive that encourages residents to explore the country’s hidden gems this winter.
These are the municipality’s five must-visit destinations:
> Ras Al Khor wildlife sanctuary: It has 450 animal species, 47 plant species and 250,000 migratory birds.
> Saruq Al Hadid: An archeological museum housed in a 3,000-year-old building in the historic Shindagha district.
> Dubai Frame: An architectural masterpiece that connects the emirate’s past, present and future.
> Dubai Safari Park: Spanning 119 hectares of landscaped spaces that provide hospitable animal habitats, the park houses 3,000 mammals, birds, amphibians and invertebrates.
> Hatta Wadi Hub: Outdoor fun at its best.
