UAE President announces Zayed Education Foundation to 'empower young leaders'
The foundation will offer merit-based scholarships and will invest in groundbreaking research in the UAE through grants and impact-driven funding

The President today announced the launch of the Zayed Education Foundation, which aims to support and prepare 100,000 promising young talents to lead economic, social, and environmental progress worldwide, by 2035.
Inspired by Sheikh Zayed's legacy "who believed in uniting humanity through service to others", the foundation will help create "collective solutions to challenges affecting millions around the world".

The President also said that the nation is committed "to providing a global platform for talented individuals to collaborate through education, research, and innovation for the betterment of humanity".
The launch of the foundation coincides with the 'Year of Community' and embodies the lasting legacy of the late founding father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who firmly believed in the importance of education in ensuring a better future for humanity.
Sheikha Mariam bint Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairperson of the Presidential Court for National Projects, stated that the UAE serves as a hub for great minds, talents, and ambitious individuals striving to build a better future for themselves, their communities, and their nations. She noted that through the Zayed Foundation for Education, the UAE is expanding opportunities for young leaders across the world to contribute their ideas, knowledge, and innovations toward a more sustainable, inclusive, and prosperous future.
Creating young leaders
The Zayed Foundation for Education will build a global network of young leaders, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to supporting sustainable development both regionally and internationally.
The foundation's mission is embodied in the pioneering Zayed Scholarship programme, which offers merit-based university scholarships and intensive leadership training. This initiative is designed to enhance academic excellence and practical leadership skills, preparing young leaders to create transformational impact in their communities and the world.
In addition to scholarships, the foundation will invest in groundbreaking research and innovation in the UAE through grants and impact-driven funding, enabling talented individuals to access resources to develop tangible solutions for global challenges.
The foundation will initially launch its initiatives in the UAE and then gradually expand to Arab countries and partner nations in the Global South through direct engagement and strategic alliances with educational institutions, government bodies, and local communities.
