As many as 45,000 free Iftar meals will be distributed by the UAE Red Crescent at 14 Ramadan tents across Ras Al Khaimah during the holy month of Ramadan.
"Up to 1,500 meals will be contributed to poor and low-income people at 14 tents all over Ras Al Khaimah this Ramadan every day," said Mansur Saeed Al Naqbi, director of the UAE Red Crescent, RAK branch.
"These tents are in Masafi, Dafta, Wadi Asafni, Umm Araj, Shaam, Dafan, Julan, Muairidh, Nakheel, Daqdaqa, Hamham, Al Heel, one adjacent to the Emirates Bank and another one next to the garage of the department of public works.
"The Ramadan Meer or foodstuff coupons were also distributed to eligible cases, while Zakat Al Fitr and Eid clothes will be given out later. The amount of Zakat Al Fitr will also be determined later."
Al Naqbi said the door is wide open for receiving donations to be able to reach more vulnerable people. "The UAE Red Crescent spares no effort to reach out and support eligible people in collaboration with its strategic partners."
The UAE Red Crescent has already distributed an array of allowances and relief items to poor people worldwide before the start of Ramadan. "This was done in coordination with the UAE embassies there," he said.
