Driving in a parade without a specific permit, or driving in the wrong time and place, is a traffic violation

As UAE celebrates its 54th National Day, a number of parades have been announced across the country. These events bring together people of different nationalities to celebrate Eid Al Etihad with colourful performances and a community spirit.
The roads through which these parades travel are usually closed off for the duration of the event. Transport departments of the respective emirates clearly communicate road closures to the public.
The day before Eid Al Etihad, Sharjah Police has issued a warning to motorists about driving in parades. According to the authority, it is forbidden to drive in parades or gatherings unless you have a valid permit. Driving in a parade without a specific permit, or driving in the wrong time and place, is a traffic violation.
A motorist found violating this rule could face the following punishments:
A fine of Dh500
Four black points on the licence
Impoundment of car for 15 days
Earlier, Dubai Police called on the public to follow rules during the National Day celebrations. The guidelines issued by authorities include refraining from participating in parades and gatherings without permission, not waving any other country's flag, leaving early if travelling to the airport, and more.
