UAE: Motorcyclist killed in traffic accident in Fujairah
Legal measures have been taken, and the case has been referred to the Traffic Prosecution for further investigation

A 31-year-old Emirati motorcyclist died in a traffic accident early Sunday morning, March 23, according to Fujairah Police.
The collision on Al Mazallat Beach Street in Fujairah involved a vehicle and the motorcycle, leading to the rider's death.

This tragic incident comes just days after another devastating accident this month. On Monday, March 17, three Emirati teenagers from the same family lost their lives in a horrific crash in Wadi Al Helo. The crash, caused by speeding, led to the vehicle flipping multiple times before catching fire.
Two of the victims, aged between 15 and 18, died at the scene, while the third passed away from injuries the following day. They were laid to rest together in the same cemetery after funeral prayers at Al Hussain Mosque.

UAE's Ministry of Interior recently revealed that Dubai tops the list in terms of fatalities and injuries at 158 – just ahead of Abu Dhabi at 123.
The authority also released data pertaining to multiple other emirates and traffic safety across the country
Overall, the number of deaths and injuries across the UAE last year (384 road deaths plus 6,032 injuries; for a total of 6,416) rose by 8.3 per cent or 496 cases more than the 5,920 recorded in 2023.
A total of 4,748 major accidents were recorded in 2024, up by 8 per cent or 357 cases compared to 2023; and 20 per cent or 803 more than the 3,945 cases recorded in 2022.
