The UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Dr Anwar Gargash, has strongly condemned an attack on Aden airport that claimed at least five lives and left dozens more wounded.

“The attacks that targeted Aden airport also targeted the Riyadh agreement and all of its peace prospects in the sisterly state of Yemen,” Gargash tweeted. “The incitement, violence and terrorism will all fail before the peace project led by Saudi Arabia for the good of Yemen and the region.”

The attack happened shortly after a plane carrying a newly formed government for Yemen arrived from Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.

The cabinet members including Prime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik, as well as Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed Said Al Jaber, were transferred safely to the city’s presidential palace, the witnesses and Saudi media said.
