Crisis management officials from UAE, GCC nations hold emergency meeting

The United Arab Emirates participated in the first joint emergency meeting of officials responsible for emergency, crisis, and disaster management, along with operations room officials from Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The meeting, held via video conference, was attended by the UAE's Ministry of Interior. It comes as part of joint efforts by GCC member states to enhance security and stability and to raise readiness levels in addressing current situations and various emergency challenges.
According to a GCC statement, several key topics were discussed — most notably the current regional security situation and ways to strengthen existing security coordination across member states.

Participants also addressed information sharing and joint coordination to tackle emerging developments and emergency challenges, with the aim of enhancing the readiness of crisis and emergency response systems throughout the Gulf.
The statement further highlighted the importance of strengthening direct communication channels and activating the role of liaison officers among relevant entities to accelerate information exchange and elevate levels of integration and joint coordination in light of current circumstances.
The Ministry of Interior was represented by Brigadier Abdulaziz Al Ahmad, Director General of Central Operations, who stressed the importance of strengthening joint Gulf cooperation and intensifying coordination among operations rooms and relevant authorities to ensure a rapid and effective response to emergencies and crises.
