Have you ever imagined a career built entirely around a game controller and a live-streaming camera bringing in up to Dh100,000 a month? Well, that’s reality for ‘Prince Mohammed’, one of the region’s leading gaming content creators. He has built a profile followed by thousands of fans and earns a stable income that rivals top traditional jobs.
Peerless or Mohammed (surname withheld upon request) confirmed that his monthly income ranges between Dh60,000 and Dh100,000, depending on the engagement and effort. “I can earn Dh60,000 in one day, or I can make nothing; it all depends on the work,” he told KT LUXE.
According to video livestreaming service Kick, Peerless won first place in December 2024 in the Most Watched category; he had nearly two million views that year.
His content centres on gaming and creating related entertainment. He focuses on producing fun, engaging streams, and promotional content, often partnering with gaming companies to showcase their games to viewers. His streams can draw anywhere from 15,000 to more than 35,000 viewers.
Building a persona
Peerless said he spends six continuous hours each day playing, which is his key to success. “You need to have a captivating personality and charisma to entertain people and make them happy. If your followers love you, companies will be drawn to you.” He also emphasised the importance of consistency, recommending that streamers go live daily from 6pm to midnight.
Until recently, Peerless hadn’t taken a real holiday for six years. “I wouldn’t travel or go out, but this year I felt I deserved a reward. I bought a car, enjoyed myself, and finally travelled.” In fact, he recently treated himself to three cars, all paid for in cash over four years.
Press play
His gaming journey began when he was a child, exploring devices like Atari, Sega, and PlayStation. “I played like any normal gamer back then, but the games were different. Today, I can connect with anyone from anywhere, and I’ve built my own community. I have friends from outside the UAE with whom I talk daily, and sometimes, we meet in real life [and it’s] as if we’ve known each other for years.”
Peerless noted gaming has evolved from a hobby into an investment. “I used to play in secret because my family thought I was wasting my time, but they didn’t realise it would eventually make me money.” He now earns more than he ever expected, and he does it without needing a university degree.
He also emphasised the importance of personal skills and building relationships with his audience, believing that success relies on the ability to engage with and attract followers.
Privacy concerns
“I keep my personal life separate from my social media presence,” Peerles said, noting he has developed a digital identity that is distinct from his real-life self. “People appreciate me as Peerless or Mohammed, and that’s how I want to be known. I don’t want them to know me outside of that. Privacy is important to me.” He believes that maintaining this boundary has helped him avoid problems and enjoy emotional balance while building a strong brand.
In the world of gaming and live streaming, friendships are not just about connection — they are about trust. Peerless emphasised the importance of being cautious when communicating with someone online. “You’re only hearing someone’s voice. You don’t know what they might be hiding. You have to be careful.”
However, he admits having connections in the industry greatly benefited him. “God blessed me with a friend called ‘Drb7h’ — he is a famous streamer as well who taught me a lot and saved me a significant amount of time to grow,” Peerless said.
Patience feeds continuous growth
Peerless said games serve as a valuable tool for learning, enjoyment, and earning income. “We used to love Nokia for the Snake game; now, games are everywhere, and companies prefer influencers over TV ads,” he noted.
He said that this field requires patience, continuous growth, and interaction with a diverse range of personalities. “I’ve interacted with all kinds of people, children and adults alike, and they have all taught me valuable lessons. I have learned the importance of patience, flexibility, and how to listen to feedback effectively.”
He said gaming has evolved to resemble other sectors like tourism and hospitality, and he believes it has potential for long-term investment.
