The UAE's civil defence employees are among the highest paid in the world, a top official has said.
During a Federal National Council meeting on Tuesday, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, told members that the salaries of civil defense personnel in the UAE are among the highest in the world.
The minister was responding to a member who had requested an increment in the wages of civil defence personnel as recognition for the great services they are providing the nation.
Taking to his Twitter account after the FNC meeting, Sheikh Saif said: “During the discussion in the Federal National Council, one of the members requested an increase in the salaries of civil defense men, so we explained to him that the salaries of civil defense personnel in the UAE are the highest in the world."
