Al Khaja is the first ambassador of the UAE to Israel, following the normalisation of relations between the two countries last year.

The UAE ambassador thanked Netanyahu for the warm welcome that he received upon his arrival in his country.

“I had the pleasure of meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel. We discussed UAE-Israeli relations and bilateral cooperation in combating the Covid-19 pandemic. I thank the Prime Minister for the warm welcome I have received in Israel,” Al Khaja said in a tweet.

In addition, the UAE ambassador also met Israeli minister Ophir Akunis to discuss a variety of issues of mutual interest.

On March 1, Al Khaja presented his credentials to Reuven Rivlin, President of Israel, as the first UAE Ambassador to the State of Israel.

“I look forward to representing my beloved country and working to strengthen cooperation and relations between our two countries,” he said.
