UAE: Emiratis injured in fatal multi-car collision in Oman airlifted to Fujairah

Emirati citizens who were injured in a deadly road accident in Oman were successfully airlifted to the UAE, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mofa) said on Saturday.
After receiving initial medical care in the Sultanate, the injured were successfully transferred to Sheikh Khalifa Hospital in Fujairah to continue their treatment, Mofa added in a statement.
On Friday, Oman Police said that five people were killed in a fatal car crash on Sultan Said bin Taimur Road in Dhofar Governorate.

Initial reports indicated that two Omanis and three Emiratis have died. Eleven others have sustained injuries, including two Omanis and nine Emirati citizens of which five are children.
The collision, which involved three vehicles, took place at 7am.
The air ambulance mission was the fruit of collaboration between Mofa, the National Search and Rescue Centre of the National Guard, the Air Force and Air Defence Command, and the UAE Embassy in Muscat.

UAE authorities offered their condolences and sympathies to the families of the deceased, and wished a speedy recovery to all the injured.
