The UAE Embassy has urged Emiratis in Saudi Arabia to register so that the necessary arrangements can be made for their return.

The UAE Embassy in Saudi Arabia urged citizens to register on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation's Tawajudi system.


This comes after Saudi Arabia announced late on Sunday that it was shutting its borders and suspending international flights over a new, more infectious strain of Covid-19 that's spreading in Europe.

The UAE had on Monday urged citizens in Oman to return before its border closure comes into effect.

Airlines in the UAE have suspended flights to Saudi Arabia, Oman and Kuwait after the three Gulf countries announced border closures.
