UAE offers condolences to Lebanon over soldiers killed in Tyre explosion

The UAE expressed its sincere condolences and solidarity with Lebanon over the victims of an explosion that occurred inside an army facility in Tyre, while the soldiers were performing their duties.

The explosion resulted in the death and injury of a number of soldiers.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its sincere condolences to the families and relatives of the victims, and to the government and people of Lebanon, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured.

The explosion occurred on Saturday, when the soldiers were inspecting a weapons depot and dismantling its contents.

An investigation was underway to determine the cause of the blast which killed six soldiers, the army added in a statement.

Security sources told Reuters that the explosion was caused by "remnants of the Israeli war" in the coastal city.
