Members of the family were residents of Ras Al Khaimah and were returning after attending a cultural festival in the Capital

Three Indian siblings and their maid were killed in a tragic road accident in Abu Dhabi on Saturday morning, a UAE-based social worker has said.
The crash apparently occurred near Shahama on the Abu Dhabi–Dubai road, when the car they were travelling in met with an accident. Khaleej Times has reached out to the Abu Dhabi Police for further details about the accident.
The UAE residents who hold a RAK visa and live in Dubai, hail from the south Indian state of Kerala. They were returning after attending a cultural festival in the Capital.

“The family’s domestic help, along with the children has also died in the crash. The father and the mother, along with their 14-year-old, are in a serious condition and are being treated at a hospital in Abu Dhabi,” the social worker said.
According to him, the extended family has requested that the deceased be buried in Abu Dhabi, where the accident took place.
However, this would require special approval. “The extended family has reached out to us asking for burial in Abu Dhabi where the accident happened. But for that, a special permission is required. In the UAE, the primary rule for the burial of an expatriate is that the deceased must be buried in the emirate where their residency visa was issued. For this, a special permission is required, and that’s what we are trying for at the moment,” he added.
