The GCAA announced that a crew member from a helicopter that crashed on Thursday off the coast of the UAE has been found dead.
The Air Accident Investigation Sector at the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) confirmed that the search mission for the second missing member is still underway.
The authority extended its sincere condolences and sympathy to the family of the deceased.
The GCAA received a report of a helicopter crash off the coast of the UAE, on Thursday, September 7, at around 8.30pm.
The 'Bell 212' chopper, owned by Aerogulf, with registration mark A6-ALD, crashed into the Gulf sea while on a night training trip with two pilots of Egyptian and South African nationalities onboard, GCAA said earlier in a statement.
It had originally taken off from Al Maktoum International Airport.
The authority is still on the search for the wreckage, and has advised the public to take information from official sources only. The public has also been advised to not believe rumours and spread misinformation.
