A two-year-old Indian girl passed away on Saturday in a Dubai hospital after being pulled out of a swimming pool, a social worker confirmed to Khaleej Times.
According to Naseer Vatanappally, the incident happened on Friday night in a villa in Mirdif. "The parents were inside the house but the door was slightly open so the girl was able to slip outside and go to the pool," said Vatanappally, who is assisting the family with the legal documents following the death.
The girl's four-year-old sister found Neiza Shujain floating and immediately called the father who rushed to the pool. Vatanappally said the father was able to flush out water from the baby's body and the ambulance immediately arrived and rushed the baby to Latifa Hospital.
Neiza was put in the intensive care unit overnight but unfortunately she passed away at 2:00pm on Saturday, said Vatanappally. The girl is expected to be interred in Al Quoz today.
Vatanappally said the family is from Kannur in the south Indian state of Kerala.
