Two killed, three hurt in Sharjah accident

The accident took place at 5.00am when four Indian nationals who were crossing the road were hit a speeding Land Cruiser. On seeing the pedestrians, the driver of the vehicle applied the brakes but failed in his effort to avoid the pedestrians.The vehicle swerved to the right and hit another car. Two of the pedestrians, M. B. L. and B.S., both 27 years old, died on the spot while the remaining two Kumar. R, 28, and S. R, 30, and the driver received severe injuries. The two bodies were sent to Al Qasimi and Al Kuwaiti hospital morgues. ATraffic Police official blamed the accident on high speed.
