Two Emiratis stranded for nine hours under hot sun without drinking water in a desert were airlifted on Monday evening.
Sharjah Air Wing, affiliated to Ministry of Interior, managed to save the lives of the Emiratis whose car got stuck on the sands of Al Batayeh desert.
Sharjah Police operation room said that they received a call from the two men late in the evening, when they failed to lift the car from the sands by themselves.
The operation room dispatched the Air Wing who found the two men tired and exhausted. The duo were rescued around 9pm and the rescue personnel rushed them to the hospital.
Colonel Saif Salim, Head of the Air Wing Department advised the desert adventurers to carry enough water with them especially during the summer and use GPS service.
