Emirates General Petroleum Corporation (Emarat) and the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) have jointly launched a traffic awareness campaign to promote safe driving on Dubai highways.
Dubbed “The Personal Appearance Service”, the new initiative requires customers to visit any of the customer service centres once only to register their personal details
The RTA said the campaign will especially target long distance travellers, such as those travelling from Dubai to Saudi Arabia.
The Centre for Regulation of Transport by Hire Cars in Abu Dhabi (TransAD) has launched the new Intelligent electronic licensing system for taxi drivers.
It will commence operations from November and is expected to ferry 27,000 riders per day.
The project will house the central management systems for the new Traffic Control System, in addition to the ITS infrastructure which will be implemented via a separate ITS infrastructure development project.
