Dubai authorities honoured the artist behind the sculpture that adorns Nad Al Sheba roundabout.

Emirati artist Latifa Al Saeed designed the circular formation, titled 'Al-Sarmadi', which consists of eight horses and 15 'waves'.

These steel wave formations reach a height of 9.2 metres. The sculpture, located on a 23.5-meter-wide body of water, uses 62 tonnes of iron, and over 600,000 metal pieces. The artwork took four months to manufacture and install. Watch the video here:

Mattar Al Tayer, Director-General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), honoured Latifa, and praised her creativity in designing the artwork that reflects the renewed spirit of Dubai and its limitless ambition.

The artwork personifies the 'never-stop-growing' attitude of the city, always pursuing new innovations, rooted in Dubai's rich heritage, authorities earlier stressed.
